Dear Students,

We would like to reassure you that we have teams across the college committed to seeking solutions to support the transition to a fully online and live streaming model for the next six weeks and are working on timetable options for future intensive practical and clinical classes and what this looks like.  Due to the large volume of enquires, we would like to assure you that teams are working through these tickets and we thank you for your patience as we respond to your calls and emails with a core focus of supporting you at this time.

Please see a summary below of the FAQ’s that have developed across the day.

Library Support teams:

  • the Virtual Librarian hours have been extended to cover from 8am-8am (AEDT) Monday-Friday.
  • starting Monday 23rd EBSCO and ProQuest will provide unlimited simultaneous access to most e-books across a number of publishers, please connect with the virtual librarian for details.
  • this means that a large number of our most popular e-books will now be freely available to all students through the library electronic holdings.

Graduations Postponed:

  • all students that are eligible to graduate have received notification today that graduation ceremonies have been postponed. We respect that this is disappointing, however, your health, the health of your family and friends is a priority during the evolving COVID-19 situation globally.
  • the college will continue to monitor this situation closely and we hope to be able to celebrate this milestone and significant achievement with you all at a later date.

Online Study:  the college is currently reviewing the online schedule for April, May and June to support your studies at this time and will update once this is rolled out.

  • the live streaming of theory classes will continue for all of S1|20 and all links are posted on the LMS - go to the subject > go to connections > go to subject news > go to latest announcements forum.
  • the recordings for these live classes will be loaded after the completion of the class on the LMS >subject > go to the week > recording will be uploaded within a 24-36 hour period.
  • attendance waivers have been put in place across all non-clinical attendance subjects and students are not required to provide medical certificates or documentation for attendance waivers.

Practical and clinical classes intensive sessions – we have a large volume of enquires of what an intensive session may look like and we respect and understand that this will support planning your studies in the future.

  • we are committed to supporting your completion of these classes and clinics and timeline extensions to support the completion of these subjects will be put in place.
  • teams are currently modelling what this will look like across all degrees and thank you for your continued patience as this is reviewed over the coming days.

  • this is a very stressful time and it is important to take care of you, as you transition from an on-campus to online environment start to think about how study life at home looks, take the time to set this up properly so it works for you, your family and your home situation.
  • in a world that has been turned upside down for many,  it is recommended to stay connected with what is important and ensure you have the support networks around you at this time, register for a free online student wellbeing webinar via the website events page  click here

Support teams:

  • support teams across the college are receiving a large volume of enquires and we are working on all ticket and phone enquiries, please allow a 36-72 hour response time as we answer your questions and support you at this time.

Student Assistance Program (SAP).

  • this is a stressful time as what we have known is now the unknown. It is very important that you take the time you need to also take care of yourself at this time, the SAP is available 24/7 free of charge by calling 1800 336 207 and available for confidential counselling, please do reach out to this team if they can be of any support in helping support you and your family at this time.  

In this unprecedented time, we thank you for your continued patience and ensure you that we are focused on answering all your enquires, supporting your questions and committed to working on solutions that support your present circumstances.  At the college, all teams are dedicated to ensuring that you can continue with your studies online and return to campus with minimal disruption and maximum flexibility to support the successful completion of your planned studies.
