Dear students,

As COVID-19 continues to disrupt business, with the campus closures and our move to the virtual delivery, I am saddened to announce that we have made the difficult decision to stand down our sessional academics for the time being. This is not something we have considered lightly and this isn’t an easy call for any of us to make. Please be assured we are taking steps to ensure we reduce any impact to you and your learning.

We know that you worked closely with many of the talented sessional academics and built strong relationships on the teaching and learning journey together across lectures, tutorials, discussions that showcase the depth and breadth of experience they bring into the classroom, practical or clinic. They are all amazing teachers, thoughtful and kind individuals focused on you – our students. The College is working closely with all staff impacted across these challenging times and we expect that lecturers and clinic supervisors may be back in the near future as we open again for intensive blocks and Semester 2, 2020.

In the meantime, you still have access to all our amazing permanent academics who have written and delivered the lectures and assessments you are currently working through. They are our brilliant acupuncturists, naturopaths, nutritionists, myotherapists, physiologists, scientists, biochemists, social scientists, counsellors, psychologists, public health experts – experts in everything that we do. They are currently delivering virtual lectures and webinars and are the ones you talk to every time you have an academic consultation, go for extra group tutorials or need someone to talk to about how your everyday life fits into your studies. They have been providing you with support already and will continue to support you in this unprecedented time. Please connect with them on the Loops or via the emails – they are here to support your learning journey.

It is our commitment that we will work with all our academics for all future delivery - we know that the College is as strong as its academics.

Thank you for your understanding of this difficult decision, for your resilience you continue to display and for being a partner and continuing our collaboration in this unusual time – together is the only way forward.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to connect with any of us – we are here for you.

Kind regards,

Dr Andrea Bugarcic
